Application Engineer I

ATF, Inc., seeks an Application Engineer I in Lincolnwood, IL, to support P2 and P3 core procedures including supporting process maps SM2-0 application review, SM2-0-0 application testing and SM3-0 part creation and drawing.

Requires Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, and some experience or coursework in stress-strain relationship, material flow for steel and aluminum, single component creation using SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite, operation of a hydraulic press and mechanical testing equipment, and operation of measuring devices used for fastener dimensions.

Manufacturing Manager - Second Shift - Lincolnwood, IL

Summary

Manufacturing Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, is responsible for the daily operation of manufacturing department on both shifts. This includes meeting or exceeding machine and labor utilizations, quality and production goals while ensuring QS-9000 requirements are met in the process.

Position Responsibilities

• Direct departmental supervision
• Assist in preparation of annual business plan as related to manufacturing. Responsible for meeting or exceeding the goals in this plan
• Participate on the Materials Review Board
• Coordinate meetings with materials and production control
• Development and implementation of departmental procedures
• Maintain communication with engineering, sales and all management
• Coordinate with same re: simultaneous engineering – samples
• Timely completion of employee performance appraisals
• Training and development of employees including defining training needs and level of competency for direct reports or deeming direct reports competent to train others.
• Communicate with outside vendors re: tools, parts, machines, etc.
• Prepare capital summary for equipment needs
• Coordinate of maintenance required on equipment
• Participate in the interview process for prospective employees
• Coordinate with Human Resources various training programs, including the use of the training center

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of cold heading, rolling, slotting, and die repair
• Hands-on skills in heading or rolling
• Good knowledge of material flow, tooling and equipment requirements.
• Must be capable of sound decision making with good leadership and possess pro-active management skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

Education and Experience

• Three years minimum managing in a manufacturing/fastener environment.
• 8 to 10 years supervisory and management experience in cold forming processes.
• 2 to 4 years hands-on heading or rolling experience.
• High School Diploma.

Header Setup Person

Summary:

Produce quality hi-precision cold headed blanks; while maintaining superior degree of productivity.

Position Responsibilities:

Set-up and operate a wide range of small or large diameter headers; 1 die, 2 blow; 2 die, 3 blow; 3 die, 4 blow; multi-station headers or cold formers. Produce quality parts; in finish and configuration, with zero defects on a regular basis. Proficient in SPC, maintaining critical dimensions, math and blueprint reading. Teach, instruct and educate helpers or trainees. Familiar with all tooling necessary in making set-up. Able to make adjustments. Perform minor maintenance on machinery. Proficient with various hand tools, micrometer, scale and venier caliper. Capable of trouble-shooting tooling and machine problems. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated mechanical ability and experience with specialty fastener manufacturer. Competent with small hand tools, and all measuring instruments pertinent to cold heading shop; including micrometer, scale, venier caliper. Proficient in SPC, and maintaining charts. Proficient in reading and understanding shop blueprints.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or the equivalent formal experience required.

Warehouse Clerk

Summary

ATF is looking for the right candidate to join our growing team as a Warehouse Clerk. A Warehouse Clerk has several key functions which include:

Maintenance Mechanic / Machine Builder

ATF is looking for the right candidate to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic/Machine rebuilder.

The Maintenance Mechanic/Machine Rebuilder would maintain responsibility for performing machine repairs and rebuilds. In this role, a number of the primary duties would include the following;

Machining
– Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drills, milling machines, etc… to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures and tools.
– Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
– Fabricate and repair production equipment parts and fixtures.

Electrical Work
– Understand and troubleshoot basic electrical components.

Machine Repair
– Visually inspects and test machinery and equipment.
– Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired parts.
– Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
– Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
– Install, and repair automated machinery and equipment such as pneumatic robots.

General Duties
– Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
– Assist and cooperate with other team members within the Maintenance department.
– Follow all safety rules and practices including policies related to the handling of oils.
– Perform other tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated ability to read, write and understand English including the ability to work from prints, diagrams, manuals and instructions. Candidates must be able to troubleshoot and repair pneumatics and hydraulics.

Ideal candidates will have experience with cold forming equipment, such as National Headers , EWM Rollers, Hartford Rollers and using precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, indicators, feeler gauges, hand and power tools, machine tools and the equivalent of five years of related work experience and or a combination or work experience and training.
