Engineered Fasteners

With our wide range of engineered fasteners, ATF has the right solution for your specific challenge. Manufacturers throughout North America rely on our applications engineering support to design the optimal joint. Plus, our state-of-the art laboratories verify the integrity of our products with data to validate their performance in your exact application.

DELTA PT®

The DELTA PT® is a thread forming fastener designed for superior performance in thermoplastic and thermoset materials. As the first EJOT® licensee of DELTA PT® in North America, ATF is the largest DELTA PT® licensee in the world. Some of the DELTA PT® features include:

  • Innovative flank geometry that allows for reduced radial stress in the application. This allows a lower installation torque and increases stripping torque.
  • Optimized helix angle that yields superior vibration resistance and increased levels of clamp load retention.
  • High mechanical strength from a large ratio between major and minor diameters, resulting in ideal torsional strength for tougher plastics.

FLOWpoint Delta PT®

FLOWpoint Delta PT® is an innovative fastener designed to join highly engineered carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) with other materials.

FLOWpoint Delta PT® is a self-piercing and self-tapping fastener that penetrates both the clamped and mating material without a pre-hole. FLOWpoint Delta PT® has an optimized Delta PT® thread geometry that forms strong female threads in CFRP materials.

Some features include:

  • No pre-hole required
  • Can be used in a variety of CFRP materials
  • Easily removable and serviceable
  • Fastener is available in stainless steel, steel, aluminum and titanium materials
  • Hybrid joining possible (i.e. aluminum to CFRP )

ALtracs® Plus

The innovative ALtracs® Plus is a thread forming fastener designed for use in light alloys and other non-ferrous metals such as zinc, copper and brass with hardness up to 140 HB.  Some of the ALtracs® Plus features include:

  • Optimized flank to thread form into material while reducing radial stress and strengthening the mating internal threads.
  • A circular body shape which results in 100% thread engagement with the mating component.
  • A metric-compatible thread pitch for each size of part, yielding excellent serviceability and reusability.

FDS®

FDS® is a flow drilling screw designed for joining high strength sheet materials. An FDS® fastener creates an extrusion in the sheet material which provides increased thread engagement resulting in a high strength joint.

FDS® only requires one side access for installation. The one sided accessibility provides for assembly into hollow profiles such as hydro-formed or aluminum extrusions.

Some of the features include:

  • Can be used with or without a pre-hole
  • If used without a pre-hole, assembly alignment issues are eliminated
  • No material waste or chips are created when forming the extrusion
  • Used with various sheet materials
  • Easily removable and serviceable

SHEETtracs®

SHEETtracs® is a self-tapping fastener for joining thin sheet metal with a pre-hole.

The reduced screw flank angle of 45 degrees creates a more stable female thread compared to common 60 degree threads. During the thread forming process the reverse asymmetrical lead thread flank design extrudes material for increased thread engagement.

Some features include:

  • Improved fastening performance in thin sheet metal
  • High vibration resistance
  • Simple and safe assembly due to alignment features and low installation torque
  • High stripping torque due to a robust female thread
  • Metric compatibility

Taptite 2000®

Taptite 2000® thread forming fasteners are designed for use in steel and light alloy materials. At ATF, we support our customers with REMINC’s legendary patented trilobular technology which provides excellent mechanical, assembly and ergonomic characteristics.

Taptite 2000® features include:

  • The trilobular body and radius profile threads allows for decreased levels of drive torque during assembly.
  • A decreased out-of-round dimension (compared to previous trilobular products) to improve clamp load retention and pullout load.
  • An induction hardened thread forming zone for ease of thread forming into multiple types of materials.
